Polygamist Accused Of Molesting Daughters

SAN DIEGO -- A $1,000 reward is being offered by the San Diego Police Department for information on a man wanted on suspicion of child molestation.

Jose Luis Torres, 52, is accused of molesting his daughter and stepdaughters, according to police. Torres is a polygamist who was married to two women, authorities said.

According to news release from authorities, Torres "manipulated his wives into believing he was an emissary from God and his sexual needs were going unfulfilled, thus allowing the molestation of the children to occur."

Police said his main income came from his wives. He also rebuilt cars for money and attempted to publish a book under the name Jose Luis Quiroz.

Torres is also accused of using various Social Security numbers, including those of his children, to acquire credit cards to pay off debts, police said.He is known to have lived in Tecate, Tijuana and most recently in San Diego County.

Authorities said it is possible Torres could have started a new family.Torres is described as 5 feet 8 inches with a heavy build. He has brown hair and brown eyes. Torres is known to use multiple aliases including Jose Luis Quiroz, Jose Luis Aureliano and Aureliano Torres.
