EMPIRE — The director of a home for troubled boys in Blount County has been charged with aggravated child abuse.

An indictment was returned Feb. 13 against Pastor Jack Patterson of Empire who serves as director of Reclamation Ranch Ministries.

Two others also were charged with aggravated child abuse.

The investigation was launched in Nov. after a complaint was filed by a 17-year-old about “severe abuse, beating and torture.”

11 boys were removed from the facility by the Department of Human Resources.

Patterson, who remains free on $25,000 bond, declined comment on the charges. He will be arraigned on March 17.

  1. This was not the only home they ran that did these things. They had a boys home in Sweetwater, TN too. I was in it. Same things happened there.
